MKULTRA is Hightower and ZOPqa. Hightower is mainly responsible for programming, samples and keys. Zopqa is responsible for vocals and strange effects. Together they act musically as a symbiose adding fear to your mind.


MKULTRA started in the summer 2000. ZOPqa had been looking for a fellow partner to do some music with. The breakthroug came when the Novation Nova was bourght. A fantastic synth. Shortly after Hightower bourght a synth too (Yamaha CS2X) - and MKULTRA was a reality.

Our inspiration to the music we make come from different kinds of style. We've both listened to a lot of traditional electronic musik such as Depeche Mode, Nitzer Ebb and Skinny Puppy when we were younger. Nowadays our inspiration comes from the new noise-scene - labels like Hands or AntZen. Many bands from the Cold Meat Industry label also inspires us, as well as power-electronics and the neo-folk movement.
